Employment! Apprentice Opportunities

There are two physical activity apprenticeship posts available at North East Derbyshire District Council. Applicants must have a passion or sport and physical activity, be enthusiastic and have a positive attitude to work. They will also need to be able to work well as part of a team as well as on their own initiative.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health: Early Recognition and Intervention Training

 

The aims of the day are to:

  • Increase understanding of the continuum of mental health
  • Enhance levels of understanding of risk and resilience factors associated to child and adolescence mental health
  • Develop levels of confidence in recognising mental health difficulties 
  • Improve awareness of what you can do in your role to support improving children and adolescent mental health
  • Be aware of local and national support networks that you can access to support your role


Training dates

  • 11th September 2019: 9:30-4pm @ Rosliston Forestry Centre, Swadlincote
  • 19th September 2019: 9:30-4pm @ Lime Tree Centre, Matlock

News! Home from Hospital Service

Derbyshire Home from Hospital Support Service

The support service provides practical support for vulnerable people leaving hospital, or those living at home but at risk of being admitted. 


Who can use the service?

Anyone who lives in Derbyshire (outside Derby City) or is registered with a GP in Derbyshire and has limited support from family or friends.

 

What sort of help does this service offer?

  • Undertaking simple shopping 
  • Making sure the home environment is warm and comfortable 
  • Arranging for key safes to be fitted and community alarm or telecare systems to be provided if needed
  • Supporting people to pay bills and make appointments
  • Collecting medication prescriptions
  • Helping people to understand care options and plan what they need for the future
  • Signposting people to other statutory, voluntary sector and community organisations as appropriate 

 

Who can make referrals?

Anyone can make a referral including self-referrals.
