Our six week Get into Programme at Chesterfield Royal Hospital gives you the opportunity to train, take part in work experience and get a fast-track qualification in care.

You will work with patients as a member of the Healthcare Assistants team, gaining real life experience on the wards that will boost your employability and could lead to an interview for paid work. 

TAKING PLACE 14th October - 22nd November 2019

Taster day 26th September 2019

CAMHS Specialist Community Advisers 
Mental health support for professionals working with children and young people. 

Who are we?

CAMHS Specialist Community Advisers are a team of qualified professionals who are all experienced in working in the field of child and adolescent mental health.

We are;

- A range of professional backgrounds including nursing and social work

- Located within a range of community bases in the High Peak and Dales and in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire

- Able to work flexibly in terms of time and location to meet the needs of the local area.

What are our aims? 

The key aims of the service is to provide support and advise to practitioners who are concerned about the mental health of a child or young person. 

We aim to:

- Work alongside first contact agencies in Health, Education, Social Services and the Voluntary Sector to strengthen mental health services for children and adolescents.

- Support and empower professionals to extend their range of skills and knowledge in mental health issues.

- Enhance the current early, preventative and mental health promotion projects and services

What do we offer? 

-Confidential consultation, advice and support on child and adolescent mental health issues. 

- Access to North Derbyshire Access Point (NDAP) - a multi agency weekly meeting aimed at identifying the most appropriate support service for a child or young person who is exhibiting non urgent mental health or emotional difficulties. 

- Attendance at multi agency and professionals meetings where mental health concerns are being questioned.

- Training in child and adolescent mental health issues to promote the positive mental health of children and young people.

News! Bolsover TV

If you haven't already heard, Bolsover District Council now have their own TV channel! It is aired every two weeks to show what has been going on in the district and what's to come.

The Channel is not just about what Bolsover District Council are doing; but about the district and it's communities. It is a great way to showcase what is happening, what community groups are available for people to join, tourist attractions on offer and what businesses are doing and what events are taking place. 

The latest programme on Bolsover TV has now gone live. News! One Million Mentors

1MM are looking for people to carry out free training and volunteer to mentor young people between the ages of 14-25. 

1MM aim is to ensure that every young person in the country has access to a trained mentor as they transition into adulthood. We believe that facilitating and investigating in mentors will help to address the skills gap agenda and improve social cohesion. 

To become a 1MM, you need to be 25 or over. You need to be either a professional/retired professional, be prepared to give one hour, per month for twelve months and complete our mandatory online training.
